Types of Hot Yoga

If you’re a beginner, you might be wondering what we mean by ‘hot yoga’. There is a wide range to choose from, but here are a few of our favourites:

• Bikram – This focuses on not only different poses but also breathing techniques and set sequences. It takes place in a room heated to 105°F which is believed to improve flexibility and stimulate metabolism to burn extra fat.
• Baptiste Yoga – This is a blend of several different styles, including Bikram, Iyengar, and Ashtanga. The room temperature is normally 90°F and every class will be different based on the teacher and the desire of the students.
• Hot Power Yoga – This is an ‘umbrella’ term for hot yoga as it incorporates a broader range of hot yoga at once, generally set to about 80-100° This is great for someone who wants more variety in their yoga routines as there are a lot more poses available to cover.
